Ants are easy to keep away from any food sprinkles with instant grits powder because 2 reasons one of which is its a fine particle partly that clogs insect breathing and the other is to gruesome to describe. Just put the powder on a dry surface like at a door bottom and within a couple of day no more ants species that eat carbohydrates. Meat eater only ants maybe another problem.
