Ever wonder what is going to happen when the computer light craze ends? Will there be truckloads of these being send to landfills worlwide, or will they be torn apart and reused in third world countries as track lighting… Man, I feel green today, I better burn a tire and get back to normal.
The guys at geeks.com always have cool crap for sale and some useful tech tips for those in need of a little bit of help.

Seoul to Build Combat Robot

These are being developed for the US military as well. The future of non-combat missions might one day be dominated by robots. Personally, I think this might cheapen the costs of war to the point where it become more common. Not a good thing.

According to design blueprints released during a meeting of science-related ministers, the robot will have six or eight extendable legs with wheels allowing it to move like an insect over uneven terrain. The robot will be armed with various weapons and will operate both by remote control and its own artificial intelligence system.

Fake Nikon Batteries Explode?

This might be true of just the latest up and coming urban myth. The idea here is that you try and save some money by buying off brand batteries for your Nikon D70 and because they are a little short on the safety features they can explode in your camera if they fail. I can see how if a device decides to pull a huge amount of current and the battery isn’t limited somehow it might be a problem, but then again batteries naturally have an internal resistance so there is only just so much power you can get from them at any given moment.

SPIDER ATTACK!!!

Spider Attack

Woah! Spider Vs. Bee and the bee wins. That guy is gunna eat tonight!

I was so frickin’ excited when I saw this. This little spider caught a bee about twice his size. When this is the most exciting thing to happen to me in months, I know I’ve got to get a social life of some sort.

I should look into getting some closeup tubes for my camera, I had some decades ago on my Honeywell Pentax H1 and I had a lot of fun with them.

a better tomorrow: SPIDER ATTACK!!! (really, a spider attack)
(Thank you Eugene for this one)
