Now this is an odd bird. I never thought I’d see an auxiliary lens kit for a Holga camera. If you didn’t know, the Holga 120 format camera is an amazingly cheap medium format camera in both price and quality. The only reason that the cameras aren’t serving as filler in a sea wall somewhere is that it takes a darn unique photo. For some examples check out the Holga Fisheye pool on Flickr. Something about the cheap plastic lens. Not too shabby if you’re on a budget and want to shoot medium format film. The lens will give you a 60degree FoV and a focal length of 25.2mm and even comes with two mounting rings. A very alluring offering if you ask me.

Any accessories that can be used on an SLR can (theoretically) be used on a Holga. If you get a 46mm to 55mm (or whatever size your accessories are) step-up ring, you can screw it right into the plastic of the Holga’s lens and use close-up filters, “telephoto” and “wide-angle” diopters, polarizing and color filters, IR filters and anything else with threads.
I maintain a Holga FAQ for one of the Holga communities on Livejournal, you should check it out.

hello.
I just bought the holga fish eye lens
and i cant figure out if i put both the rings on
or just one…
and which one? the larger or the smaller of the two?
I’m not using it as a Holgaroid Polaroid.
Just as a regular Holga.
I can’t seem to find an answer to this anywhere…
please help….
I can’t figure it out either. How are the rings suppose to work? I am sure it is stairing me in the face, but at the moment I don’t see it.
Any help here would be appriecaited.
thanks
i was wondering, could the holga fisheye lens be used on a nikon slr camera?
Nix: I don’t know. If it did it may have some major vignetting on the edges. Call a few local camera shops and see if they have any of these lenses in stock, if so haul your camera in a give it a try.
