Two feet tall, responds to voice commands, built in camera, user programmable, reverse chicken legs… Wow, I’ll take one of these over a RoboSapien any day. It does need some end effectors so it can grip things but other than that its darn cool. Look for this in stores soon for around $300US. Not a steal but far less costly than the KHR-1 type robots out there, those still cost over a thousand bucks.

This sucks. As I blogged before, some of the latest Apple Macbooks have been calling in sick. The owner of Lonelocust has been struggling with pretty much all of the problems that have plagued these new wonders. It’s almost biblical.
I love this site, mostly because it give you ideas. Yeah, those can be dangerous can’t they? You just can’t let your toaster toast toast, it has to tell time, read the news for you and suggest what tie to wear to work. Ok, that’s a bit extreme but its not beyond what you can find on this information packed site
This is going to be the next big thing, I can tell. Well at least around my home, once my wife sees this she is going to go nuts. It looks to be an ok webcam too. 640×480, 350K CMOS sensor, adjustable focus, 54 degree FoV… No mention if it will work with a Mac though.

I like a game that tells you to crack open the books so you can understand enough to play.

Ahh, now this is a neat project. For a hobby grade device I bet you can get quite a bit of work out of this. I’d worry that the CDs would distort and fail under the centrifugal load. Baring that, this looks like a great demonstrator for a Tesla turbine.
