Now this is a nice bit of fun. The classic paranormal feel good movie Ghostbusters has been immortalized as an animated GIF image just like Star Wars has been.

If you have ever wanted to know more about how Nintendo works or even how it came to be you should see this documentary. Might not be the most well balanced show ever but it is interesting to watch.

Well my car has driven over 179,000 miles and for this it has rewarded me with a failed emissions test. Great. I guess that’s what the check engine light was trying to tell me a few months ago. I figured out that its something called an EGR valve, it re-circulates hot exhaust back into the cylinders so it will burn the un-spent fuel. I looked into getting a new one but it costs $170! Ouch! I’m going to give cleaning it a shot. Worse thing I can do is break it and I’ll have to buy a new one. So, if I’m lucky I will be able to get that part back on line and I can register my car and put the pretty tags on it so I don’t have to actively avoid the police whenever I go out and about. Whee! Another project.
The 1950’s were a golden age of science fiction. Books, movies and most of all TV brought strange alien worlds, space ships and evil aliens to people everywhere. And what’s better to deal with an evil alien monster than a trusty ray gun? Over at the Patent Room, The Art of Industrial Design they have collected a bunch of patent drawings (yep, they were patented before being mass produced) of classic ray guns and a bunch of other thing (architecture, trains, cars just to name a few). As an added bonus you can buy prints of up to 24"x36" or each patent drawing.
