Jeff Wayne’s The War of the Worlds Game

WoW

Back in 1998 Atari came out with a War of the Worlds game based on the brilliant Jeff Wayne’s musical play. I fondly remember that album, the mix of drama and rock still send shivers through me.

Jeff Wayne’s The War of the Worlds is a real-time strategy game. There aren’t any set missions or a linear story-line, it’s all up to you. You must use your time wisely to build up your forces and production facilities within your sectors before the enemy can launch their attack. Research new technologies, construct new buildings, and build new military units to win the game and save your race. The fate of your species, whether Human or Martian, is on the line.

Suck It Up!

Suck!

Wouldn’t breathing through a straw do the the same thing? I might need one of these pretty soon, I signed on to shoot behind the scenes video on an indy film in Colorado. The elevation is going to be about 10,000 feet. Far from the 1000 feet I’m used to.

Just as you might use weights to strengthen your arm muscles, breathing in through POWERbreathe for a few minutes twice daily, makes your inspiratory muscles work harder – thereby increasing their strength and endurance.

Tree Circles in Russia?

Trees?

I think some highschool kids went on a three day bender and decided to mess with the heads of the locals. Or, maybe this is because of the space probe hitting comet Temple 1! Maybe the nutty astrologer in Russia was right afer all. Yeah, that’s the ticket…

Eyewitnesses of the phenomenon in the woods of the Khabarovsk region say that the incident reminded mysterious crop circles in the USA, although in Russia it occurred in the woods, not on a farm field. To crown it all, specialists found numerous dead birds there, presumably crows.

DIY Pool Heater…

Pool heater

Problem: the pool is too darn cold.
Answer: Barbeque!
Yes, this guy adapted his BBQ grill into a heater for his 8000 gal. pool. Oh yes!!! See, have thumbs will create. I love mankind sometimes.
Oh yeah, he can be back to cooking a mean steak in three minutes. Makes me want a pool and a BBQ.

The device heats water 30 to 35 degrees at 3 to 4 gallons per minute flow. I find I get a 7 degree increase in my 8000 gallon pool for each 5 gallon tank of propane. Each tank will burn for about 13 to 15 hours on high. A pool cover is required.

For those who want to keep all of the convenience of the Internet Explorer browser plus gain all the security of the Firefox browser and more, there is an alternative.
