I saw these at a local sci-fi convention last weekend and was quite impressed (does it take much? Nope, guess not!)
The sounds are pretty darn cool, quite effective in giving the impression that its sparking and zapping the air as it moves around.

Triumph International Japan Ltd model Yu Misaki shows off the “Post Privatization Total Surprise Bra!” in Tokyo on Tuesday. The lingerie maker said it designed the bra to express support for Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi and his push to privatize Japan Post.

A very nice idea that could add all sorts of excitement to card (and why not board games as well?) I can see a future revision of this having the players wear head tracking glasses that take the place of the mirror. I’d like to see a game of Battletech or Warhammer played with the traditional minatures on the city boards but with the augmented reality providing the lasers and strikes on each unit. Could be very cool! Fireballs and smoking mechs…
TARBoard (Tangible Augmented Reality System for Table-top Game Environment) uses augmented reality and a tangible user interface to let users play board or card game in a more interactive.
TARBoard consists of a glass table, two cameras and a mirror. Markers are attached to the back side of the cards (the front side shows the creature). A first camera tracks the image of markers reflected in the mirror below the table. Another camera, the “augmenting” one provides a 3D model of a creature when the card is flipped. A player cannot see the card processed by the other player…
I saw this today and thought that it looked a bit familiar… I usderstand that they are being taken to court by the iRobot company. Here are links to both if you want to take a look. I’d go with the Roomba, I think the programming and battery life are much better. Plus you get more stuff with it, like a remote, virtual walls, and a home base.

How very nifty, its a Hotwheels race track without the track! You use IR beacons to control where the cars will go. Very clever idea.
This is pretty cool, the elevator uses air pressure to move the car up and down. Should be safe too, the air can only rush out of the bottom so fast (unless the entire tube ruptures…)
