Google Maps

Wow, ver nice maps, the smooth scroll is a nifty feature. My only complaint would be a lack of landmarks and subway lines. Other than that they are wonderful. Go find where you live, I know you want to! 🙂

Linux LiveCD Roundup

This si a nice look at 18 live CD Linux versions. It would have been nice to see a screen shot for each of them, but he does give the lowdown on each, he tested them on an old PII system with 128MB of memory. For most people that would be the system that we would be installing these on anyway so the review is pretty helpful.

Nendo

Nendo is a design firm in Japan that has come up with a rather odd idea. You have a house with a long hall on each floor. You might put a table and some chairs in there but other than that nothing else is there except a long wooden wall. Sounds boring, but this is the trick. That wooden wall is actually full of drawers that pull open to reveal shelves, stairs, doorways, beds, etc. Pretty clever, you can live in a normal (ok, normal in an ultra modern kind of way) home but if you need to it can be opened (closed) to transform it into a large activity space.
Also have a look at the art gallery in your closet, the kemuri plastic straw lights, and the ukki chair (not sure if it would be comfortable but it looks nice)
