Like the Sony Librie But Better
Sweet! A low powered high contrast electronic paper display (EPD) ebook reader without all that pesky DRM crap.
It will read the following formats:
PDF Viewer, WOLF Viewer(WOLF File Format:convert from txt,htm,DOC ,PDF,Excel,PPT,Images,mp3 ets),HTML Viewer,TXT Viewer
Looks quite similar to the one from Sony, except that the Hanlin is a little shy on buttons .I have wondered why the Librie has a keyboard if everything is pretty much read only on them. Annotations perhaps?
So, I wonder if I can get one of these on my next trip to Bangkok…
4x4x4 Multi-Color LED Cube
Freaking amazing!!!! so far it’s just (ha! ‘just’) a 4x4x4 cube of tri-color LEDs with a computer interface. Next project will be an 8x8x8 cube and maybe, just maybe a 13x13x13 version! Check the videos out.

Armored Gallery
I just discovered that AirSoft pistols can be be bought at my local swapmart. Now I’ve been bitten by the ‘cool plastic gun’ bug. It’s a good thing I don’t live in Japan!
“Bringing out the aggressor that’s hidden deep inside you” is the theme of the Armored Gallery. It sells the most realistic and expensive airsoft guns ever. Guns are illegal in Japan, and maybe that is part of the fascination. Entering this store is like walking into a Wal-Mart in the middle of the US with racks and racks of guns. They look so real; it is hard to believe that people only use them to play mock military-stytle games.

And Away They Go!
Oh cool! LiftPort Group Inc., of Bremerton, Wa. tested a robot that climbed 1,000 feet of ribbon suspended by a balloon. This is the fist step towards building an actual space elevator. A full sized elevator would reduce the cost of spaceflight to the point that a trip into orbit would cost as much as a regular international air flight.
