Make a DIY 3D Digicam

3d video

I must own two of these cameras! I could live with anaglyph stereo vision, I’d much rather have a lift and right image that you would use shutter glasses with but for the price its right. I like how the record buttons can be slaved together, with digital still cameras that can prove to be an annoying problem. I’m looking for a video clip of this, I have to see what the quality is like. I’ll post a link as soon as I find one.

3D PSP from Konami

Konami 3D PSP adapter

Konami is coming out with a stereoptic viewer adapter named ‘Solid Eye’ for use on your Play Station Portable. From the looks of the translated page it works on the same principal as a classic stereoscope (screen is divided down the center, each side has a slightly different view, and the brain fuses the image into 3D naturally) and works with Metal Gear Acid 2 (coming out in December for apx $50US).
Now I want a PSP so I can display my stereo slides in a cool high tech way.

The Pod

Pod

A steady camera will allways help a photo look better, no matter what. You can only hold a camera so steady all by yourself, exposures under 1/30 of a second might start to look a little too artistic if your know what I mean. The ‘Pod’ is a clever design, a beanbag with a screwmount on it. Not too bad, I might pick one up and stick it in my camera bag for times when I don’t want to use my UltraPod.

BTW, if you want some advice on how to shoot better video (stills too) head on over to Ninja Team Video and watch an eposode.

CyberBug UAV

CyberBug

These things are so darn cool. I love the idea of telepresence.

Base weight is 2.6 pounds, takes five minutes to assemble, and will loiter on target up to 3-1/2. It has a GPS over lay on its joystick driven control box and it equipped with a visible camera and could use an optional IR camera if you want to shell out the bucks. And speaking of that, this is going to run you about $11,000US!
