At the Star Wars Celebration III they held a serious droid race. That would have been quite a sight to see! I never realized that there was such a large group of people that build reproductions of everyones favorite Astromech.

“Naturally, all remote-controlled rat technology is exciting, but this looks like they are now ready to be put into production and used. I can only assume that the military “rat patrols” are going to be high-status, elite units admired by and envied by the K9 corps.
The most interesting point is that the rats are not under direct control–that is, they are not directly lighting up a “turn right” region of the brain. Rather, they are using a “turn-right” whisker stimulation reflex, along with conventional but more efficient (due to direct brain stimulation) operant conditioning.”

Slight Wheel Problem, But Still Pressing On!
Oppertunity should still be able to drive fine with one wheel not working, it just won’t turn all that well. The vehicle will have a larger chance of error when running on its own I suspect.
Tiny Robot Helicopter
It may still be teathered to a power supply but hopefuly a micro fuel cell or a mega capacitor could solve that.

I’m trying to shrug off the coffee monkey so I’m drinking tea about 90% of the time but just looking at this thing makes me want to brew up a big o’ pot of espresso and suck it down!
The steel, the high power heaters, the digital LED read outs… Wow… Hell , it even has PID ( think of it as an electronic brain) to keep the temp just right… Mummm.. Perfect coffee every time…. NO! MUST DRINK TEA!!!!!
