Micro Mini R/C things!
Oh the Japanese have so many uber cool toys! This guy holds the Guinness Book recors for the smallest R/C car. He is nice enough to host an English page of his cool gadgets, but you should take a look at his Japanese pages as well. So many cool toys!

Small Homes in the Future

I think that in the future more and more people will want to have homes like this. The size is right for a single person or a small family. Having a house with thousands of square feet may sound great on paper, until you think of how much it will cost to heat, cool, and maintain it. I have a dream of one day owning a small plot of land somewhat close to where I work and building one of these pre-fabricated buildings on it. No, not a mobil home, but something that could be thought of as a work of art.

Nuke a Super Computer
I’ve never quite understood what is gained by more powerful computers in simulating nuclear explosions. It seems to me that once a critical level of granularity was achieved in the simulation space, increasing capabilities would produce no additional accuracy. The computers are way cool, though. Maybe that’s the point.

(I think it’s because as the devices age the radiation and materials in the devices will transmute and stress the components and may cause unknown results. The device may fire, but the yeald may be too low or it may result in a dirty shot. -John)
