Oh so cool and nifty! The idea is real simple, just a (or many) flat disk(s) with a gas or a liquid shooting across at a tangent.

A Tesla turbine is a quite unique technology. It was invented and patented by Nikola Tesla on the 21st October 1909 at the Untied States Patent Office from experiments done in England. The patent 1061206 was granted on the 6th May 1913. Although, it is thought that a Tesla first showed a 200 hp 16,000 RPM version on the 10th of July 1906 (on Tesla’s 50th birthday).

Seiko Epson Corp. has announced the development of a flexible high definition 200 ppi display. The resolution of a 2-inch display extends to 320 x 240 pixels. The display used an electrophoresis electronic paper developed by E Ink Corp. Seiko Epson “aims to commercialize the technology within 1-2 years” targeting such markets as handheld products

The 2.1 kilogram (4.6 pounds) robot is claimed by its creator to be the smallest humanoid robot in the world with intelligence of digital image and speech processing and is controlled with Bluetooth through a personal computer.

The comments say you can get somthing like this at Ikea. I’ll have to go take a look next time I’m there.

LEDs are close to becoming metaefficient alternatives to regular light bulbs, but they are not quite there. Right now the brightest LED bulb is equivalent to a 25W incandescent bulb.
