The Rasterbator

Have you ever looked at one of your (many) blank walls in your apartment and thought “Gee, I’d like to put up a huge picture of my cat up on that blank wall…”. Well look no more! Introducing the Rasterbator!

Have you ever looked at one of your (many) blank walls in your apartment and thought “Gee, I’d like to put up a huge picture of my cat up on that blank wall…”. Well look no more! Introducing the Rasterbator! Thats right, now you can have an image blown up to 20 meters in length (thats 65-1/2 feet to you and me)!
Go have a look and print yourself up a storm (or a cat, a babe from the ‘net, your kids, etc…)

Expo ’05 Pictures

Expo 05
Now until September there in the world expo going on in Achi Japan. Here are a few glimpses of what has been going on. (If you click on an image on the translated page you may get an error page in Japanese. To avoid this, open the picture link in another tab and use that to view the images)
I’d go there in a second if I could get someone to pay my way, anyone looking for a photojournalist to cover the event? 🙂

The Truth Behind StarGate

I’m a part time fan of the SciFi show Stargate SG-1 and have been fascinated by its use of mythology and cultures. I found a site that pretty much lists all the myths and ‘guest stars’ (god/goddess of the day) of the show and give information on the real history of them.

If you like Science, Mythology, History, or Science Fiction, I can almost guarantee you’ll love this show. “Stargate SG-1” and the movie “StarGate” have many references to ancient Egypt in it. This page started out as a page that detailed all the references. As I watched the episodes, I realized that other cultures’ myths were integrated also.

Oooo… Very cool.

  • Use of pneumatic bellows for joint actuation. Bellows are powerful, naturally compliant, and take up minimal space.
  • Maximal coverage of all sides of all segments with extra wide moving tracks.
  • Unique pneumatic control method allows simultaneous proportional control of stiffness and joint angles.
  • The “drive shaft spine” is powered by a single electric motor in the center segment. The spine runs through the center of all segments and provides torque to the all tracks.

If your a runner or someone that just wants to be a little ‘brighter’ than others (like at a dance club) this could be fo ryou. Its a small LED display with a built in clock, stopwatch, motion sensative counter (pedometer) and can display various shapes and designs. I hope they come to the US soon.
