Cool!! I’m going to build the ‘grater lamp’. I’ve always wanted a sharp light. (It could be me but the page didn’t render very well in Firefox. Shame on them!)

Mostly jet aircraft mishaps, some tanks and other things that move (or used to).
I’m pretty sure these photos are from another web page, but they are still cool to look at. View this site before boarding your next flight. Have a nice day.

An astonishing array of magazine ads for home computers. Remember the TRS-80 or the Commodore PET? Ah, the memories are sweet…

This looks to be a fun and somewhat simple camera to make. I’m working up the nerve to start on my own camera, right now I’m in the planning stage, not sure if I want to go with 35mm or 120. 120 will give me a huge image but 35mm will let me develope it any where.

I saw this on Boing Boing today:
“Mac father” Jef Raskin: in memoriam
Personal computing pioneer Jef Raskin passed away this weekend.Raskin is best known for starting the Macintosh project at Apple in the late seventies, though his later career as an expert in computer interfaces was overshadowed by controversy over who ‘fathered’ the Macintosh. Though Raskin conceived of the Mac, he was usurped by Steve Jobs, who put his own distinctive mark on the machine we know today.

Update: BoingBoing’s founder Mark Frauenfelder says:
This is really sad. I saw Jef last fall, and he seemed to be in good health. Jef wrote many wonderful ideas for me when I was an editor at Wired. He also wrote some really funny (and true) stories for the print edition of bOING bOING under the nom de plume “El Jefe.” He was a wonderful artist, musician, and inventor. He’ll be missed.
