A Hobbit Hole Of Your Very Own

Have a bit of land? Want a place to get away from it all? Like the works of Tolkien a little too much? With a little work, some simple tools (chainsaw, hammer, chisel) and some friends to the heavy lifting, you can make your very own Hobbit hole. Looks like a fun project if you have the space. The straw bale construction technique works very well for many buildings. Makes great insulation too. I’d be quite happy in one, as long as it had some plumbing and power.

Villian Chair

The Villian ChairNeat-o-rama is right:

So maybe you can’t quite afford the secret volcano lair on a remote island, but you can still buy this Villain Chair by SUCK UK. Oh, wait a minute – it’s £3600! Villainy had better pay if you wanted to afford this chair!

I’m working on the secret volcano lair. As soon as the neighbors stop yelling at me for building the huge dirt mound on the roof and all the fumes from the baking soda and vinegar I’ll be ready for my chair!

Robotic Bomber On The Way

New robo bomber

The military hates to let a cool idea die, the J-UCAS smart drone was supposed to be an un manned areal vehicle that could take out the enemy or jam radar systems. Pretty much it was going to be tasked with trail blazing the way for manned missions into hostile territory. Not an all together bad idea, who likes to be shot at? However, after possible budget considerations, the idea of using this platform as an upgrade to the  long range bomber fleet. With China fast becoming a replacement for our cold war adversary this tool may be just the thing we need to maintain balance in the world.

Move Over Venus

ISS

With the International Space Station receiving its new solar collectors it my become ever brighter than the planet Venus in our night sky. It will be even brighter when all of the planned collectors are installed in 2012. Already many backyard astronimers are capturing wonderful images of the station with their ‘scopes. If you want to have a go at seeing it some evening just enter your location at the NASA Orbital Tracker and grab your binoculars.
