Ok, here’s the guts of an all acousto-optic full color laser video
projector I built back in 1986, AO means there were no moving
parts to do the high speed horizontal scan, the only moving part
was a small galvo to do the vertical 60hz scan.
If you didn’t need another reason to pour over satelite images, now you can go searching for things like jets in flight and active volcanos! Its like a world tour from right in your own home!

BTW, here is a photo of my old home in Prescott, well one place I lived when I was up there.
So you can take a photo and you can mess with it in your image editing progy (Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, etc) but what are you going to do with it? Removing red eyes in the kids photos is nice and all but just not that fulfilling. You could edit out those pesky beach vendors from your vacation photos but even that isn’t doing it for you. You did see a show on UFOs a few nights ago, maybe you could do something with that. Yeah, that’s more like it!

Skeptics Tricks Hoax Photo
I saw this in an issue of Nuts and Volts magazine a few days ago. Its device that will let you play JPGs and MPEG I/II videos from media cards (CF, SM, MS, MD) out to any device that takes PAL.NTSC video and audio in. Perfect if you want to make your own LCD picture frame or want to loop a video clip in a store display or art install. The price of the retail unit is $119 but looks like the OEM board is around $69 (don’t know if that is in a large count or not).
