The West’s Most Midwestern Town

On the radio this afternoon, the traffic reporter was saying that there were horses lose on Camelback road in front of the Phoenician Resort (around 56th street) during rush hour. If your not from around here, Camelback road is a major street here in Phoenix. How often does a city like Chicago, L.A., New York, or even Atlanta have a report of horses messing up rush hour? I’m not sure if we should be proud of this or not…

Instant Moutain, Just Add Water

Wow. I remember wanting to do something like this to a fir tree that was in the front yard of the house in Fargo one winter. I thought it would be great if I ran a hose up to the top and let the water freeze and form an ice cave at the bottom. My dad put a stop to that notion when he told me that it would kill the tree. Oops!
These guys wanted a place to climb that was near home so they took it one step farther…

Fermilab Experiment Prepares To Send Its First Neutrinos To Minnesota

This is pretty cool. I wonder if anyone will figure out a method of transmitting data using a neutrino stream. You could beam your it right through anything (including the receiver come to think of it. I guess that could be why it might not happen for a while).

I-O Data

This is a brand that you see all over the place in Japan and hardly anywhere else. But a few months ago I noticed that Fry’s was selling a CD-R/W that had the I-O Data name on it. It looks like they are reaching out into the US parts market. Good for them! . I for one hope they start offering more Japanese only items like the USB Gundam memory sticks. I bought a pair of LCD shutter glasses from a SoftMap store that was from this company. They were mega cool to use when I was viewing my stereo photos. I should hook that up again…

And if those are too big for you:
2.4 GHz Detector Ring Project
About the only thing they won’t tell you if how much you have to plonk down to connect through the hotspot. (I can’t wait until this stuff gets cheaper, $20.00 a month is insane…)

(Thanks to remote agent Steve for this tid bit of info)
